It's been way to long. Gabby is 10 months old!

I apologize for not updating the blog sooner. Lets get to it. Gabby is now 10 months old and one day today! And cute as ever of course.
On September 6, 2008 she clapped her hands for the first time. Not only did she clap her hands but she crawled towards her mom right after doing so. How special.
The week of September 15, 2008 she pulled up for the first time. The week of September 22, 2008 she was full force at her pulling up. We have a leather ottoman that is in our living room which is her new best friend. There are even teeth marks on the one side as she seems to think it is okay to use her teeth to help pull her up.
We took her for her 9 month check up on September 26, 2008. where she weighed in at 16 pounds 14.2 ounces. She was 27 and 1/4 inches long. The doctor gave us the free and clear to push as many people foods as we wished.
We have given her lots of different things so far. She still isn't super interested in much but seems willing to try it all. She does love her puffs. She eats them like crazy. She is also using a sippy cup. Which if I can mention she enjoys throwing on the floor. She is still not holding her bottle. I think she is just being smart! Ha.
Gabby also started waving and saying we think bye bye in early October.
We took a trip to Illinois for Austin's wedding on October 11th and she was not the best on the plane. Gabby now only sleeps on her tummy with her butt in the air. So, she just could not get comfortable. Not to mention that her top tooth broke through that week making her a little cranky. She was fussy while we were home due to those teeth coming in. We learned about giving her motrin and it helped so much with all her post nasal drip. We have been using it a lot since then to keep her comfortable as now she has also gotten her other top tooth. Along with the big old Winckler/Ruzicka gap in the middle of them. She also is getting two more bottom teeth.
She is now experimenting with her thumb sucking by trying out both thumbs. Kind of funny really.
I went to Illinois for the New Kids on the Block concert and Gabby, Jason and Enrique drove to Florida this past weekend. She did great in the car as far as I know. She was so happy to hang out with Grandma Sue and Grandpa Larry all weekend. Gabby even gave Grandma Sue her first kiss ever. Jason just happened to get it on video. So precious. I will try to upload it here.
Gabby is clapping, waving, sitting, standing, crawling like a machine, holding on sometimes with one hand, eating real foods and talking all the time. She has discovered how to play peek a boo with me and she thinks she is so funny when she pulls the blanket away from her own face. It make her laugh. It makes me laugh. She will walk with you if you are holding her hands. This started about two weeks ago. She is still trying to figure it out so she is kind of a high stepper at times which is fun to watch.
We believe to date we have heard her say Momma, which is most often, sometimes Dad or dadda, ok, bye bye, papa, baba. She likes to pucker her lips and make a loud noise if you do it to her she will do it back. Lots of babbling which will someday be lots and lots of words I am sure.
Gabby is a scab creator and picker. It is official, she is related to me. Ha. She likes to pick in her ear while she is eating or falling asleep. I guess those nails are a little sharper then I thought.
Gabby is now trying the school lunches at daycare. Since we are suppose to be progressing her on people food the daycare is able to feed her what she will tolerate at breakfast and lunch. This morning she had waffles, which she liked but did not care for the pears or peaches. At lunch she had some turkey burger and corn. She is on her way.
We have been doing sign language with Gabby since six months and finally today it paid off. She signed the word "more" to me today! It was so awesome. We are consistent with milk, more, all done and book. So exciting. What did she want you ask, puffs of course.
We are in town till Thanksgiving. We will be heading to Florida for that and to Illinois for Christmas. Can't believe she is going to be a year by Christmas time.
