Gabby is officially 5 months old! We weighed her today at Jason's coworkers house. They just happen to have a baby scale...so with her clothes on she was 13.51 pounds. So...We assume she is about 13. Who knows what was in that diaper of hers..ha..
She has been a little fussy the past week or so as she is starting to get the two front bottom teeth. I can see little white buds trying to come through. Her gums are hot and I can feel a little of the right one. She is starting to get diaper rash now, which our neighbor who is a doctor told us is very common when they are teething as the ph changes. So, we are on top of the Desitin and Triple butt paste. Not to mention I dried her butt today for about ten minutes with the hair dryer. Crazy I know but this is what my friend Angela, recommended. It worked on her kids so I want to stay ahead of the curve for sure.
We as usual have been on the go. Last weekend we went to Florida to visit the grandparents for Memorial Day. We also got to see The Ruble family at Ormand Beach. Gabby had her first experience in the pool and just loved it. She also got to meet Jason's Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Dick. They were very excited to meet her. She was bouncing in the jumper and talking up a storm for everyone of course. Jason's mom taught us to put an ice cube in a wash cloth to let her chew on it for teething..She loves it.
On this past Friday she had her very first babysitter. Of course she was a perfect angel. Thankfully!!! Babysitting is not cheap that is for sure. $13 an hour!! I mean how come it was okay for me to get paid $5 an hour for three kids plus. My word...
As you know we like to talk about Gabby's poop...She had switched from her very frequent schedule to once a day or once every other day..well the past four days she is going 4-7 times a day again. My word!!! She still is wanting to stand all the time and this weekend she talked all day long. Not kidding if she was awake, she was talking...She only will laugh for the daycare woman, for Momma Sue and our friend Leslie got her to giggle up a storm yesterday at the park. We can get her to shriek and smile but not truly giggle like they can.
Gabby has been awesome with her sleeping. We are still averaging 10-11 and a half hours!!!! She is still a cat napper during the day so I think this helps out a lot. You don't hear us complaining for one minute! She is so cute at night. We put her down on her back say good night..she smiles and then typically rolls to her left side, puts her feet on the bumper and hands under her face and goes to sleep within a few minutes. The past two night she screamed bloody murder for about 5 minutes then finally fell asleep. This is so out of character for her so we can only equate it to her teeth hurting. Poor thing. She is the same way in the morning if we have to wake her up, we just say her name and she rolls to her back, focuses and lots of big smiles! Oh..it is truly the best feeling in the world.
She really knows her name these days and is on the verge of sitting up unsupported. She can do it for a moment but then starts to have a big lean going on. She does much better in the bumbo now too. She will stay in there for about 10-15 minutes now before complaining. And it is official as of last week..she finally is fitting into her three month clothes! Better late then never, right?I had Gabby doing tummy time on Friday and she rolled from her tummy to her back one time. This is the first time I have seen this. I think because she was so irritated to be on her stomach she just did her great push up and then flipped over. Sadly, she wouldn't do it again for me but we keep trying everyday. She still does not like tummy time that is for sure. She has also discovered my hair in the past two weeks. Not fun!!! That grip is mighty strong when her fist in my hair!
Gabby is starting a new daycare tomorrow. So, we are nervous and anxious to see how it all goes. We are hopeful that she will thrive there and enjoy her new teachers.
I will get some pictures up soon of her from the beach last weekend. Too cute I must say!
