oh, and...
We have taught her when we or she say "mmmmm" that means someone wants to give her a kiss or she wants to kiss someone. She is all over it. So much fun. She is now kissing everyone!! Oh no, we are in trouble now.
More updates...
Gabby started standing for about 45 seconds and longer last week on Thursday night. She is still leary of taking any offical steps. She will lean towards you or fall on you as she knows we are right there. She has been signing a lot in the past week as well. Signing include, milk, all done, more, night night, eat, drink. She just started this week pointing to herself and saying "GA, GA" Jason taught her where the fan is and now we are working on where the Christmas tree is. She met Santa right before Thanksgiving and she didn't like him at all. We went to Florida for Thanksgiving. They hosted a birthday party for Gabby so the whole family could enjoy her. She got to meet her Aunt Angela and Uncle Mike.
She has also learned how to pick up and turn her walker. Which is great. Before she would get so frustrated when she got stuck in the corner and now she can move about as she wishes. She will walk behind anything. She still wants to be on our laptop all the time. Pretty fun really.
Last week she looked at us and say very clearly, bye. I swear I have heard her say, OK, all done, and of course she says momma. Still working on Dad. You can get her to belly laugh if you tickle her tummy and neck while we change her. She also likes to play this game with jason where he puts her on her back and she will start to roll over and he pulls her back. It really makes her laugh. She will even start turning over before he even tries pushing her over. She is pretty sneaky. So sweet. Her hair is long enough now that at daycare yesterday they put it up in a pony tail. She had a sprout on the top of her head. So cute!!!
She is really fun right now. We are really enjoying her.

More kissing...
Gabby finally gave me, her mom my first of two kisses last night!!! OH it was so wonderful. After she finished her bottle and gave me the sign for all done I was rocking her and she picked her head up off my shoulder stared at me and leaned over and kissed me right on the lips. Oh, such joy it brought to my heart!!! I gave her a hug and she looked at me and kissed me again. Best feeling in the world!!

Standing...
Gabby on Halloween walked behind one of the assisted walkers. She did pretty good. We have been on the hunt for one but can not seem to find one that isn't super cheap and junky. Oh well. Yesterday she stood unassisted for about five seconds. Today she did it again but this time for about ten seconds or so. We were in shock. She is on her way to being a walker!

Kissing Machine
So last night Gabby leaned over and kissed a picture of her friend Mason. Well, guess she was warming up because today when her and Mason were playing she leaned over and kissed him on the lips. He was surprised for sure. So fun. Well, for now anyways.

It's been way to long. Gabby is 10 months old!
I apologize for not updating the blog sooner. Lets get to it. Gabby is now 10 months old and one day today! And cute as ever of course.
On September 6, 2008 she clapped her hands for the first time. Not only did she clap her hands but she crawled towards her mom right after doing so. How special.
The week of September 15, 2008 she pulled up for the first time. The week of September 22, 2008 she was full force at her pulling up. We have a leather ottoman that is in our living room which is her new best friend. There are even teeth marks on the one side as she seems to think it is okay to use her teeth to help pull her up.
We took her for her 9 month check up on September 26, 2008. where she weighed in at 16 pounds 14.2 ounces. She was 27 and 1/4 inches long. The doctor gave us the free and clear to push as many people foods as we wished.
We have given her lots of different things so far. She still isn't super interested in much but seems willing to try it all. She does love her puffs. She eats them like crazy. She is also using a sippy cup. Which if I can mention she enjoys throwing on the floor. She is still not holding her bottle. I think she is just being smart! Ha.
Gabby also started waving and saying we think bye bye in early October.
We took a trip to Illinois for Austin's wedding on October 11th and she was not the best on the plane. Gabby now only sleeps on her tummy with her butt in the air. So, she just could not get comfortable. Not to mention that her top tooth broke through that week making her a little cranky. She was fussy while we were home due to those teeth coming in. We learned about giving her motrin and it helped so much with all her post nasal drip. We have been using it a lot since then to keep her comfortable as now she has also gotten her other top tooth. Along with the big old Winckler/Ruzicka gap in the middle of them. She also is getting two more bottom teeth.
She is now experimenting with her thumb sucking by trying out both thumbs. Kind of funny really.
I went to Illinois for the New Kids on the Block concert and Gabby, Jason and Enrique drove to Florida this past weekend. She did great in the car as far as I know. She was so happy to hang out with Grandma Sue and Grandpa Larry all weekend. Gabby even gave Grandma Sue her first kiss ever. Jason just happened to get it on video. So precious. I will try to upload it here.
Gabby is clapping, waving, sitting, standing, crawling like a machine, holding on sometimes with one hand, eating real foods and talking all the time. She has discovered how to play peek a boo with me and she thinks she is so funny when she pulls the blanket away from her own face. It make her laugh. It makes me laugh. She will walk with you if you are holding her hands. This started about two weeks ago. She is still trying to figure it out so she is kind of a high stepper at times which is fun to watch.
We believe to date we have heard her say Momma, which is most often, sometimes Dad or dadda, ok, bye bye, papa, baba. She likes to pucker her lips and make a loud noise if you do it to her she will do it back. Lots of babbling which will someday be lots and lots of words I am sure.
Gabby is a scab creator and picker. It is official, she is related to me. Ha. She likes to pick in her ear while she is eating or falling asleep. I guess those nails are a little sharper then I thought.
Gabby is now trying the school lunches at daycare. Since we are suppose to be progressing her on people food the daycare is able to feed her what she will tolerate at breakfast and lunch. This morning she had waffles, which she liked but did not care for the pears or peaches. At lunch she had some turkey burger and corn. She is on her way.
We have been doing sign language with Gabby since six months and finally today it paid off. She signed the word "more" to me today! It was so awesome. We are consistent with milk, more, all done and book. So exciting. What did she want you ask, puffs of course.
We are in town till Thanksgiving. We will be heading to Florida for that and to Illinois for Christmas. Can't believe she is going to be a year by Christmas time.

Gabby updates...
Gabby went to Florida to visit Grandma Sue and Grandpa Larry this past weekend. She was great in the car...and was a big hit when she surprised Grandma who was waiting at the computer for Gabby to call on the webcam.
On Sunday, Gabby discovered that she can roll around the living room to get where she wants to go. This was too cute. She is trying to crawl but not making too much movement. She is up on all fours rocking still but has figured out how to fall and stretch her arms to get what she wants. She is smart! She has pretty bad diaper rash right now. We are trying to soak her butt but I tell you it doesn't look much better. She also is still pretty fussy the past two weeks. Teeth? I don't know. She still isn't eating as much of her milk with each bottle but she is doing well with her foods. She will be 8 months on the 27th.
Grandma Ann and Grandpa Dennis will be here to watch her next week so we can go to Montanna for Natascha and Greg's wedding. It will be our first time away. It is going to be strange for sure but she will be in great hands.

Seven Months and counting...
Gabby is now seven months old. She was saying Momma today. Jason claims he heard her say it yesterday but today we both heard it. Too cute. We went to IL for the fair the last week of July. Gabby did great on the plane both ways. She had a cough the whole time we were in IL. So we took her to the doctor when we got home. Of course nothing they could do for her. She never complained or fussed just had a bad smokers cough. We kept her out at the fair 14 hours a day. She is a fair junkie already. She was having the time of her life there. Who wouldn't?
Gabby has been eating rice cereal and veggies since her six month check up. She loves everything which is great. We have also introduced pears and bananas. She has been a little fussy the past week, we think teeth but who knows. She is also really trying to crawl. She gets up on all fours and just rocks. She is almost there. She can move herself but it seems to be more of a side step then a crawl. Hey, whatever works. Her hair is starting to really fill in too. She is starting to finally giggle from her belly which is fun.
She is now fitting into all of her three month clothes and most of her 3-6 month clothes. Some are still to big.
We had two friends have babies last week. Carie and Eric Leister had baby boy, Bennett and Colette and Brian Shadix had baby girl, Sophia. So exciting for Gabby to have so many new friends. We also found out last week that our friend Carmie is expecting a girl. Yippy.
Jason got a new car this week as his air went out for I believe the third summer in a row. So, he is now the proud owner of a Jeep Liberty. He loves it and it is his first official new car. And now he can really hang with the Wincklers being a Jeep owner. Gabby loves the ride so much better. Especially since the air does work.

6 Months Old!
Gabby went to the doctor on her six month birthday, June 27, 2008. She weighed in at 14 pounds 3.5 ounces. 25 &1/4 inches long. She gained almost three pounds in the past two months! On Saturday we went from five bottles a day to four and we started her on rice cereal. At first she didn't really care to much for it but she is doing great now. Bottles are now every four hours whereas before they were every three. She is eating 8 ounces at a time and taking it all! So great. At daycare they are able to get her to eat every drop of the rice cereal. At home, different story. She is more interested in looking at herself in the mirror. However, she is getting better each time we feed her. She also started sitting up on her own over the weekend. Not for very long but I would say about thirty seconds or so. Such a big girl. So amazing really. We are seeing more and more hair each day. Thankfully she is not like me and has hair. I swear my mom said I didn't have hair until I was in school. Gabby started to bite me, yes, me over the weekend. So, here comes the weeing of the breastfeeding. That was not fun and oh my gosh did it hurt!
Other then that she is still little miss happy go lucky!! She is really starting to have her own personality. Most people still say she looks like Jason. Yesterday Enrique, said she looked just like Grandma Ann.

Still to small for the big girl chair in the tub!!
Teeth!
Gabby now offically has two bottom teeth. They broke through finally on the eve of the 13th. We heard one loud yelp in the middle of the night and when Jason was getting her dressed on Friday morning he could feel them. She has been such a good sport about them. She does want to chew on everything. You can't really see them to good here but I promise they are there!
We took Gabby to Destin Beach Florida this past weekend. Of course she loved it and was very good. Even for being off schedule. She got to ride on a shuttle at 11pm. Way pass her bed time and she of course woke up and was grinning from ear to ear. As if she knew whe was up too late and just loving every single minute of it. She was haming it up for sure. So cute! She had lots of babysitters while we were there and was full of smiles even with being off schedule all weekend.
We got Gabby to finally laugh for us tonight at dinner. She still won't laugh for us, just everyone else so it was very exciting!
We head to the doctor on Friday for her six month check up.
