Hello Everyone,
Warning...it's a very long one....go figure....
Week 31, We had a 3D/4D ultrasound on Sunday, October 28th. 3D meaning the photos and 4D meaning a video. Well, I can say Gabby is still related to me as she was stubborn the entire 30 minute session and kept her head buried in the placenta and one hand over her face the whole time. Guess she just wasn't ready for us to see her.
I went to the doctor on Monday, October 29th for my two week check up. I am now rotating through the other doctors in the practice. I met Dr. Williams and she was great. I did get in trouble from her for not gaining any weight. I tell you their scales are messed up there. According to my scale I had gained three pounds that week. I did assure her that I am eating plenty!!! I am a Winckler, there are never issues with food!
We rescheduled for Tuesday, October 30 for our 3D/4D ultrasound and had better success. It was so amazing to see her moving around in there. She still managed to keep her hand either touching her face or in her mouth the entire time. She is a thumb sucker! It was really neat to see when I feel a big movement what is really going on. It appeared that when I feel the biggest movement in my belly it was her foot moving back and forth. So surreal. I can't say we can tell she looks like either of us but it was so amazing just to see her moving and lounging. How special.
I noticed on Tuesday that I am feeling sciatica again just on my right butt check. It seems to get me most in the morning or when I am bending over to show client's different exercises or when picking things up off the ground. So not fun. It has managed to stick around since then. Some days are better than others but there is always that friendly reminder it is there. I am still suffering badly from pregnancy brain. I have also notice some leg/calf cramps mostly in the morning when I am waking up and stretching in bed.I have not been as good as I would like to be about wearing my compression hose. I have noticed some more spider veins too. I have been drinking so much water I feel as if I might float away. I am still craving hot chocolate and hot tea. I also sported a craving this week for caramels. Yum. I had reflux for the first time this past week as well. It woke me up right out of my sleep and I missed a day of work due to feeling nauseated all day. The doctor put me on a prescription prenatal vitamin in hopes that it will help with the nausea. Week 32, On Saturday, November 3, I flew to Chicago and Jason and Enrique went on the cruise we were suppose to go on. Jason's whole family had planned a trip to go on this cruise. We purchased our tickets in January and told his family we couldn't go. As most of you know Jason loves surprises. When booking Jason told the cruise line we were not pregnant yet but were planning on being what did we need to know. They told us we can get insurance or cancel 67 days before the cruise. So 67 days ago I felt fine, my doctor was okay with me going and we did not cancel. About two weeks before the cruise a client said to me she thought there was some rule about cruising while pregnant. So, we contacted her mom who is a travel agent and sure enough if you are in your 27th week or more of pregnancy you can not cruise. That is Carnival's policy. Even though my doctor would have written me a note to go they still would not have let me on cause I would have been 31 weeks along. So, we had to find a replacement. We tried to get Jason's cousin Angela to go but she was sadly not able to get off work. So the next best option was Jason's best buddy, Enrique.
They had a great time on the cruise that went to the Western Caribbean and Jason's family was very surprised and excited to have them there. I did send Jason with a pink bikini given to us by my friend Gail so that he would think of us while he was there. They went swimming with the dolphins, zip lining through the jungle, snorkeling, and fishing and had lots of fun in the sun. Jason had a great time with his family.
I went to Naperville to visit my family and despite freezing I am having a great time. Mainly just hanging out with my mom and starting our days with nothing to do and getting home at nine pm realizing we have not been home all day. So fun for us both to get this much need quality time with our families.
I was able to go to my girlfriend, Carrie's baby shower on Sunday in Bloomington. It was so fun to be able to spend the day with her. She is two weeks behind me in her pregnancy. We got to compare bumps, aches and pains and just being pregnant together. So fun! Her nursery is completed and making me very anxious to get home and get cracking on ours.
I got a lot of quality family time in while in Naperville. II got to feed my friend Missy's daughter, Vanessa who proceeded to have a blow out while I was holding her. I also go to meet my friend Laura's new daughter, Claire. It was refreshing to see how tiny she really was. She was very excited to meet me as she was happy to share a little gas with us. It was so funny. Guess these babies are trying to break me in that is for sure. I also got to meet my friend Chrissy's sisters new daughter, Lauren, who was 12 days old . She was very content and slept the whole time I was there. We celebrated my mom's birthday as well as my sister in law, Mary's 40th birthday while I was home.
We are back home and are so tired. We need a vacation from our vacation. I managed to lose another half a pound while in Naperville, not sure how that is even possible. I was down a pound last week as well as I headed to Chicago. Not sure what is going on with my body but I am heading to the doctor this week and will make sure to ask. My family noticed that my belly had grown while I was home. Gabby even kicked her grandma. So cute. I noticed Gabby having the hiccups this week a lot as well as just moving around a lot in general. I noticed as well it being a lot harder to get up and down. The fun has just begun. I have managed to get a cold as well so I have been trying to get rested for my busy week ahead.
My friends and old client's Gail and Jon Good welcomed a new daughter into the world on Monday, November 12th. Ava Isabell Good, weighing in at 7 lbs and 4 ounces and is 18 inches long. Congrats to you both. We can't wait to meet Ava.
Week 33, I got in trouble on Wednesday when I went to the doctor and I had lost a pound and I am measuring two and a half weeks too small. So, I had to get an ultrasound and it showed that Gabby is a week behind in her growth. She is currently four pounds which is right on. But I have low amniotic fluid. There are several reasons for it. Either my placenta is not producing enough, I am not drinking enough, or I am leaking. I am not leaking that I know of and I am pretty sure I am drinking plenty so not sure what the deal is. She is also breach. So, we will see if she decides to flip around or not in the next six weeks. I went to lunch with my pregnant friend, Karen right after I was told to eat and not workout. We ate so much I couldn't even eat the rest of the day. So, I am trying to get that weight on. She may tell you I didn't eat enough but I was so over full I felt like I couldn't breathe.
I am not to workout this whole week and have to go back to the doctor on Tuesday for them to make sure I have gained at least a half a pound by then. So, guess this being sick is good timing to get me to relax. But, I don't have much of an appetite or a voice. Ugh. I go back the following week for my regular two week check in and will get another ultrasound then. I have noticed Gabby still moving a lot this week. Lots of hiccups and little kicks on my right side and right below my belly button. Maybe she is trying to flip over in there. I noticed on Thursday and Friday when I am moving around some Braxton hick contractions.
Included are pictures of Gabby at the 3D ultrasound. The first one is a side profile of Gabby resting on her hand. The second one is her with her arm bent under her chin and her foot on her forehead. The other pictures are my friend Carrie and I at her baby shower with our bumps, she is two weeks behind me. Jason and his mom on his cruise, Enrique and Jason out in the jungle from the cruise, me at 32 weeks, Ava Good and me at 33 weeks.
Thanks for sitting through this one, I know it was a long one. Just think we only have seven more weeks to go! I am officially in my 8th month. Whoo hoo, how exciting. Also included are the www.babycenter.com reports for week 31, 32 and 33.
All our love,
Julie and Jason
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Week 31
How your baby's growing: This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.
Week 32
How your baby's growing: By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.
Week 33
How your baby's growing: This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin.
