We are finally adjusting after my mom left. It has been a week. I think the hardest thing was just knowing that I am home alone most of the time. It was sure nice to have her company and extra set of hands to help out. I did manage to get out daily with her all on my own. Sounds silly but it was the first time I had done that.
This past week she has been very gassy and fussy especially at night. The doctor said this is normal for her age. Of course. At night she lies in her bassinet and grunts and stretches and grunts and strecthes. Then we hear a loud break of wind and she seems to settle down a little. Or I am there just placing the pacifer back in her mouth time after time. She did give a great Julie burp this morning. I was talking to Jason on the phone and even he heard it. We have been using the Mylocan for gas but not sure that it is even helping.
This past weekend she noticed for the first time the little toys that are hanging from her car seat. Her eyes were so big as she stared intently at them. She has also been starting to smile a lot more. I do believe some of them are even for real and not just gas. She is starting to grasp onto our hands more and reaching for things. She will lie on her back in her little gym and kick at the toys hanging above her. We get such a kick out of watching her. Her hands and arms are still moving a mile a minute. Especially when the pacifier falls out. You would think it was the end of the world. Ha. Colleen Wedekind's parents were driving through Atlanta on their way to Ft. Myers so they stopped by to meet Gabby and take us out for dinner. It was so great to see someone from home.
Gabby even went to two Superbowl parties on Sunday. We are finding she is really good at this stage to take out as she seems to fall asleep in the car and seems to like her car seat still. I have also taken her walking twice this week. Once with her boyfriend, Mason, and then yesterday with her friend Maddie. She is getting the best part of the deal just enjoying the ride as I push her up and down all these big Georgia hills. We go tomorrow to get Gabby's hip x rayed. I am sure we won't have any information until we visit our doctor later this month.
My friend Valasco welcomed his third daughter on Monday, Feb. 4th. She weighed in at 8lbs 9ounces and was 20 inches long. They named her Toria Denise. Congrats!
We just learned that our friends, Josh and Jenny Chamberlin had their first baby boy yesterday. His name is Rossi Bilotti Chamberlin. He weighed in at 9lbs and 3 ounces. Both baby and Jenny are doing great. Congrats to you both.
